Hello! My name is Erin Shakour and I am a proud teacher in Cleveland Metropolitan Schools. I currently am teaching kindergarten at Orchard STEM school. I enjoy making my classroom developmentally appropriate while maintaining a level of rigor that keeps my students engaged all day. My teaching style consists of small differentiated group rotations during ELA and Math blocks. I use a centered-based approach to my classroom set-up that has a Montessori feel to it. I use hands on activities and manipulatives for all of my centers and teaching activities and am always on the hunt for materials I can use to incorporate into them so the students always stay engaged. Working with a majority of students who have never experienced a school setting has its sets of challenges, but at the end of the year I am nothing but beaming over the progress of my students growth!
