I teach 11 students with various moderate to severe disabilities. Eight of my students live with Autism. My assistants and I struggle daily with covering required academics and necessary life skills, while attempting to prevent behavioral meltdowns. Although progress is often slow, we are quick to celebrate even the smallest accomplishments. My students know they are loved and work to the best of their ability to become as independent as possible.
