My students have varying levels of ability; some of my students can use desktop computers to access technology and others need a more hand held device. Our current iPads are older, and we don't have enough for everyone. We would like to be able to access applications as small groups, and even as an entire classroom. All of my students love to earn the iPad as a reward for doing good work, staying on task, and following instructions. As a teacher, I would love to be able to open every opportunity for each of my students - technology is the key!
My students work in small groups, sometimes one on one; to be able to have multiple smaller tablets to pass to these small groups would be fantastic.
What I would like to see on my student's tablets are writing applications, such as Handwriting Without Tears. I would like to have video applications such as PBS Kids, which one student in my class particularly likes. I am asking for the smaller tablets due to the ages of my students - it will make it easier to manage as they learn to access the applications and it will give them another avenue to increase their knowledge.
