My students are a mixture of about four different cultures. They are enjoying the projects that they are doing to go along with their learning. Many of them love to stand up and speak about their project. I am trying to get them college and career ready by speaking in class. The school is a low-income school. The average income is around twenty thousand dollars. Parent involvement is very low. By having students do presentations and inviting parents, we are hoping to make a positive change in the environment and have parents wanting to come to school for activities. Many of the parents do not work, so students do not have the opportunity to have their voices heard and to let others know what they have learned at school.
