My students are high school students who struggle with literacy. Grade level material is hard for my students, which makes them feel very frustrated and they may shut down due to that frustration. I have found that I need to find age level appropriate materials (high interest but easier reading level) to increase student engagement. My students are very engaged when I integrate technology into my lessons. Our school is in a small community in a rural area. The students are like typical high school students and enjoy socializing and activities.
