My school is located in a low-socioeconomic area, with a majority of students coming from low-income homes. Over 65% of our school lunches are free/reduced. For many of my students, school is the only place they can feel part of a team and experience a wide variety of active pursuits. These help our students create healthy habits. Our PE is more than games for these students. They learn problem solving, cooperation, responsibility, and empathy.
