Hi, I'm Sheri Reed, an Advanced Academic Resource Teacher at Brookfield Elementary School. Ours is a wonderful school of diverse students from all over the world. We're a Title I school, with over 52% receiving free lunch. Our PTA works hard to keep us as current as possible with resources but there is only so much they can do. My goal this summer is to gather enough items to begin a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) lab. I understand that for all our students to be successful they need to be exposed to the 21st Century skills of Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Communication, and Creativity. I also know that if we can spark students love of the sciences, engineering and math they have a better chance. Through a STEAM lab where students can build, create, and explore we can accomplish these things!
