I work for a school district where most of my students come from low income families. Most of my students do not have day to day supplies like paper and pencils. So I know that I can not ask for students to have extra supplies for my projects. I had trouble getting my students to complete their work, so I started make fun projects to try to boost student motivation. I was amazed at how excited my students became with math.
