My students are amazing! Many of them present with intellectual and emotional impairments. Several of them deal with the negative effects of poverty and trauma daily. My students really want to learn and show up everyday to better themselves and the world around them. My School is a high poverty/trauma k-5 public school. Recently, viewing the UDL approach, we find that movement and multiple means of representation motivates our students. For many, our school is their safe place, to learn, engage with mentors, and learn about society. It is our goal to expose our children to a rigorous curriculum that allows for technological use, to prepare us for the future!
