My class normally consists of 20-25 low income boys and girls. Most of them come from homes that don't have a lot of resources and opportunities for them to engage and learn outside of the classroom setting. Our school is a rural school where we are very low staffed with large class sizes. There is not a lot of extra money to purchase extra things we want for our classroom. Anything extra we want usually comes out of our own pocket, which can really add up quickly.
