I teach 5th grade students from all across our district. We are a unique set up with 5th and 6th grade students in one building. Our school has over 60% free and reduced lunch population. I have a diverse group of students, ranging from special education included students, English Language Learners, students in poverty, students with less than desirable home situations and typically developing students. Our school has a goal for all students to achieve a 1 year minimum growth in their reading. This requires kids to read and have access to books. We are a very technology-deficient school.
