We are a title one high poverty school in a rural Hawaii town. Living in Hawaii has benefits and disadvantages for the students here. We do not have elaborate public libraries, discovery museums, or any academic specials within the school to enrich our academic and cultural learning. Technology can help bridge our geological and financial gaps of our children. Technology can open a whole new aspect of many concepts for the class.
I have the inclusion classroom this year and iPads can help me differentiate the students diverse learning. I have students who can't write their names and students who are beginning to read. In addition, we have a high ELL population. The challenges of a public kindergarten classroom are great. Technology will allow me to filter in another avenue of fun learning for the class.
My students tend to love school. I push academically high with lots of centers, songs, rhymes, and movement. School becomes an exciting place to be.
