Stead Elementary School is a Title 1 school; furthermore, it is considered a "high risk" school. I love this school! I have been part of this school for 20 years as a parent volunteer, student teacher, substitute teacher, and now a 3rd grade full time teacher. The students at this school are eager to learn and longing for attention and compassion from their teachers. I love to give these students extra attention and see how they respond by working harder because they love the praise and excitement they get from me (their teacher). Positive reinforcement is what drives my students. It always becomes a win-win situation because they learn more and feel good about themselves and their education. I am their teacher and their cheerleader. I love to see the looks on their faces when they achieve a great score on a test or realize that they understand a new concept. Teaching is a very rewarding career!
