My classroom is filled with 15 curious four year old children. Our program focuses on preparing each child for Kindergarten. We use a project based curriculum which allows for every student to help guide the instruction and allows the teaching staff to individualize the instruction to each child's needs. We are located in an elementary school building which enables teachers to collaborate with K-5 teachers. The preschool students enjoy the opportunities of also interacting with older students throughout the school year. Many activities in my classroom focus around a piece of children's literature. The stories that I choose for my lessons can lead to reading/language, math, science, social-emotional, gross motor and fine motor experiences for students. We love to read in preschool!!!!
