I teach at a Title 1 school and have many students who come from low income families. Our classroom and school provides a safe place to learn and grow. My first graders love to learn, and school is like a second home. First graders are like little "sponges", and are eager to "soak" up new information and to learn all they can. We truly become a family, learning together and working cooperatively. Our school has many volunteers, including parents and community members, who help support us in and out of the classroom.
