My students come from mainly Hispanic and Haitian backgrounds. The majority of them are from broken homes with multiple siblings, from different parents. Many live with grandparents and/or other family members due to their parents either being incarcerated or not being a part of their lives. Our school is on an extended day since we are considered a double "F" school. They are in need of constant positive reinforcement and guidance. They struggle with the day to day needs of uniforms and school supplies.
