30 minutes of music in school is NOT enough! A guitar in the classroom allows students to experience music throughout the day.
The guitar not only helps build classroom community, but also allows students to express themselves through singing, and dancing. Students who are afraid to speak often are not afraid to sing, which helps build their confidence throughout the year.
The guitar is also a great way to teach lessons on sound! Playing guitar in the classroom also promotes listening and reading skills (students must read lyrics to participate in music with the guitar.) Having an acoustic-electric also allows students to experience two tones, and allows for a louder sound for big class size.
