Our classroom has awesome books on CD and tape and will be a great listening station. Our equipment does not exist: everything was old and unusable. Last year's class was actively using the devices and I want the new class to enjoy it as well.
Since our community is below poverty level, receiving basic supplies (including ear phones and pencils) is a challenge. We can set the students for success by making sure they are not embarrassed by a lack of quality supplies.
Finally, our class is an inclusion class of general and special education students. Attention and sensory students are better able to experience the classroom with some specialize supplies like the desk bands. This project will positively impact students that are in need but also are determined to "do their best"!
