The goal of the social studies curriculum is to equip students with the skills needed to become productive citizens. Project-based learning, online simulations, research, and even learning games allow the students to engage in the history curriculum in my classroom in an authentic way. It is vitally important that access to meaningful and active learning activities is not limited to those students that can afford their own devices. The requested kindles would allow 1/3 more students in each class to have a device to use.
