As some of you know, this fall I will have my very own substantially separate special education classroom! A substantially separate classroom, also known as self-contained classroom, is a classroom environment outside of the general education setting for children with significant learning needs. My school is a chronically underperforming school in Dorchester, MA and has been deemed a level 5 school, or one of the lowest performing schools in the state.
