Welcome! I'm a passionate and energetic teacher working for the Durham County School District in North Carolina. I've been fortunate enough to teach Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade for the last 3 years. I know that seems like a lot of different grades in only three years. I am a Special Education teacher working in a self-contained classroom (multiple grade levels in one room). My students become my "kids" very quickly. I consider them an extension of my immediate family, and I take tremendous pride in them. These children started with me as Kindergartners. They will return to me as first graders ready to be challenged with rich material and many social skills lesson. My children are extremely motivated and inquisitive. Some love to read and others are learning to read, I want to continue to foster an environment that supports "out-of- the-box" thinking.
