I teach students with autism in grades 5-8 in a substantially separate classroom. We are not often given the resources, materials, and support that my students need to fulfill their potential. My students come from low-income homes and often need help getting basic necessities such as winter coats and food for holidays. Despite their circumstances, they are amazing, happy, kind children who bring joy to our classroom every day.
