Greetings! I have been teaching science at Ogden International High School since 2010 and in Chicago Public Schools since 2005. Ogden is an international-themed, college prep high school centrally located in Chicago. Our diverse student body represents a broad cross section of the city. Our curriculum is centered on the International Baccalaureate program, which promotes depth as opposed to breadth. As a science teacher and Science Olympiad coach, my primary aim is to pique and develop my students' abilities to question the world around them. Their questions lead to research and independent investigations. This cycle continues through the year, helping students to learn to ask more and better questions, to develop their reading and thinking skills, and to design more robust, hands-on investigations.
