My students are primary age Special Education learners on the Autism Spectrum. Students on the Autism Spectrum have difficulty with communication interpersonally and socially, in addition to learning and emotional difficulties. My class is Autistic Support and is located within a K-4 elementary school in a diverse, economically distressed urban neighborhood in a very large city.
Our school is dedicated to providing all students with the academic, technological, and social skills needed to be productive and contributing citizens in our society. Our school is on the rise, and we were recognized by the district for our school-wide positive behavior plan that created an environment that lead to a significant increases in math and literacy across all grade levels.
