My students attend a Title One school that provides every student with breakfast and lunch. My school works hard to meet all needs of each student and tries to make every student feel safe and comfortable. We want them to know they can be LEADERS and become something in life. Most of the students go home not knowing where they will sleep and if they will eat that night. Some struggle to participate or focus because they are tired and hungry. I have students who struggle with learning. BUT, when I make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved, they are happy, excited, and willing to work hard. These kids may not have much at home, but when they come to school I want to provide them a fun, safe, exciting, kinesthetic, trustworthy classroom. My students learn so much from participating in hands on lessons. When they can create, imagine, and build things they are quick to discuss, learn, and present new material.
