My students come from homes that may lack many resources, but they have pledged a commitment to work hard and establish the necessary educational skills and character traits to succeed in school, their community, and the world at large. My students come from linguistic and ethnically diverse backgrounds. Many of them will be the first in their family to complete high school and or college. My students have made the decision with their families to work harder and smarter by attending a school with a longer school day and school year. They are dedicated to achieving their goals and are doing the concrete work to make that happen. My students are curious and excited about learning. They are focused and determined to engage in challenging work that will help them be above grade level by the end of their school year. They are committed to themselves, their teachers, and their classmates to succeed in school. They are willing to go above and beyond to see these goals met.
