Our school has a high population of children who speak a language other than English and/or have a disability such as autism. They love learning, especially using technology. These children benefit from this type of reinforcement of skills given at their own pace. A fair percentage do not go to preschool and are behind the others who have attended preschool programs. Getting children excited about learning how to read is paramount.
