I want to always ensure that my students get everything they need to succeed in my class. Calculators are a tool students need to check their calculations when working on a problem that involves negatives, fractions or decimals. I want my students to feel more confident when they have a problem that includes negative integers, fractions or decimals. Students can find what negative one plus negative one is without a calculator, but using a calculator allows students more time to make connections and understand a geometry concept. Calculators help all students feel confident with arithmetic and focus on geometry concepts.
