Since the pandemic, students have limited access to quality materials to engage in hands-on play. They have been on electronic devices a lot, and their fine-motor skills and hand-eye coordination are lacking in some areas. They are yearning to get their hands on, and touch, things. These light table/sensory materials will help my students stay engaged, increase their vocabulary and make hands-on learning fun!
My students love using a light table. They will be able to use the math manipulatives to take our lessons to the next level. They can explore and reconfigure the materials to enhance their understanding. Any time I add sensory materials to a center, their opportunities for conversations increase. When I add the resources I have requested to a light table, the materials really come to life!
My students will be playing and having so much fun, they won't realize they're learning at the same time! Students will be interacting with each other and having deep, meaningful conversations. They will love and benefit from this sensory center.
