Our school is a Title 1 school with 90% of our students qualifying for free or reduced lunch. Growing up in a low-income area, my students are not always able to have the tools they need to succeed in school. My second graders are bright, loving, spunky children that love to be in school. They are always asking for extra time outside or an opportunity to move round in the classroom (even more than they already do). Stability balls will give them that opportunity! Although we do not stay in our seats all day, we do have times where seat work is necessary. During those times, many students become fidgety and uncomfortable. These stability balls will replace the students’ chairs and allow the students to focus on their work.
