I have 30 first grade students in my classroom. The majority of of my students are English Second Language learners. Many of the students do not speak any English. Although I enjoy the unique cultures in my classroom it can also be difficult for me as the teacher. I am the only adult in the room all day. Most of my students are also coming from refugee camps, and all of my students are living below poverty. My students often come to school without socks or proper fitting shoes.
