The “middle school” years are a very challenging time for children. They battle having to fit into an unrealistic mold that society tries to squeeze them into. The media is constantly filling their heads with a certain standard of what beauty looks like. When my students enter our classroom each and every day they are warmly welcomed. I stand at my door each morning with a smile and high-five every child that walks into my room. My hope is that I am able to empower each individual child to be the best version of themselves that they can be. I hope to encourage each child to see the potential in themselves that I see so clearly in each of them.
