Entering into my seventh year as a classroom teacher at Woodland Academy, an elementary school located in the heart of Worcester's Main South neighborhood, I could not be any more excited to meet my incoming 6th grade students. With the start of a new year quickly approaching, I am constantly reflecting on previous years, thinking about ways to improve the teaching and learning in my classroom. In order to create a positive classroom community and build college and career ready students, it is important to ensure that my classroom is equipped with necessary and appropriate learning tools. At Woodland Academy, the majority of our students are English Language Learners, many of whom come from low in-come families. Therefore, with your support, I will be able to provide my students with appropriate learning materials and authentic learning experiences!
