I teach 95 technology obsessed students at a Title I eligible school. A majority of the students can hardly pay for school supplies and because of various home situations are either unable or choose not to complete school work outside of school. We are trying to promote a college readiness environment and expose our students to futures they don't currently believe are obtainable.
This year I really want to focus in on how what we are learning can be applied outside of the walls of school. I want my students to take ownership of their learning and be an active participant in Mathematical talk and opening up new pathways they never thought they would go down.
