Many of these low income students have a challenging home, which transfers over to the classroom. For many, continued engagement is a struggle. Moreover, many of their families cannot afford modern computers and devices so these students have very little experience on how to properly use them.
In our current classroom, there are 18 students and only two dated desktop computers—which they all must share. Given the time necessary to teach all of the required curriculum, this gives students very little time to enrich their learning on computers. There are simply not enough technological resources to accommodate the students.
