According to The National Association for the Education of Young Children, young children learn best through play. When provided with developmentally and appropriate practices, Pre-K and Kindergarten students are allowed to learn through a variety of learning styles, along with increasing both language and social skills as well. Yet unfortunately, with budget cuts in the school system, getting fun and exciting toys isn't as easy as it once was.
With YOUR help, every donation made to my classroom, gives each and every one of my Kindergarten students the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally and academically! Allowing students to become actively engaged during social studies, social centers, such as dollhouse with a family, housekeeping, food and kitchen items, blocks, math, science, art, and a sandbox, students will be given the opportunity to engage in active play. Students of all backgrounds will love participating in these new social, emotional and language activities, yet those ELL students learning English as their second language will be given an added benefit of practicing their new language in a safe and fun environment, which will ensure growth in fluency, vocabulary and build self esteem. Please help me make this year the best Kindergarten year yet!!!
