Having taught fifth grade for many years, I have realized that even though they are older and capable of sitting still for a longer period of time than younger students, it is still challenging.
I allow my students to move about freely when they are working independently, however when I am instructing the group as a whole, I expect them to remain seated. This can be uncomfortable and the reason for my request for these inflatable seat cushions. My students will be able to wiggle in their seats without being a distraction. This in turn will increase their ability to focus.
