Every single one of my students receives free breakfast and lunch because our county's poverty rate is so high. Often, my students struggle because their lives are filled with adversity. Homelessness, lack of transportation, poverty, hunger, and deficiencies in medical/personal care are common. Despite this, my students create the most uplifting moments whether by supporting my students with special needs in our speech class, sharing smiles, or even helping each other find clothes for job interviews. I'm proud of my students, and I want to continue inspiring my students to succeed even though our school system faces more budget and personnel cuts each year.
