Our grade level consists of one hundred students; they are a diverse group whose reading levels range from a beginning reader to middle school level reader. They come from a variety of homes and cultures; many of them are participants in our after-school tutoring program and many are in need of support and encouragement. One-half of my students are identified as English language learners and or special needs students. These students face many barriers on a daily basis and are in need of materials that can be used to support them in the classroom.
