Flexible seating will help optimize my students' ability to learn through movement and choice in our 21st Century classroom.
Brain research has shown that physical activity leads to higher academic performance, better health and improved behavior.
Flexible seating options for our classroom would include WOBBLE stools, floor seating, wobble cushions, and stability balls to meet a variety of learning styles.
This alternative seating will increase the physical activity in my classroom and promote engagement and collaboration. Additional benefits of flexible seating include increased engagement and motivation, increased oxygen flow to the brain, and improvement of core strength and overall posture.
