Our school media center has a newly formed makerspace designed to not only enhance student learning but nurture their creativity. The Makerbot 3D printer and filament will engage our student's critical thinking skills as they are able to explore the possibilities of design and analysis. Students will gain an understanding of the manufacturing process and what is involved in taking an idea from thought and bringing it to fruition.
Our students are intrigued about STEM careers and the possibilities of changing lives. The Makerbot 3D printer will give our students both the theoretical and practical experience related to some STEM careers. With the knowledge and skills gained, our middle school students will build confidence in learning. This confidence makes them able to position themselves to not only achieve but lead at the high school level.
