My students are fun, loving, and curious kiddos that are working super hard to learn and grow as third graders in order to prepare for their first standardized test, but most importantly, for fourth grade and the rest of their bright futures. Our school is an old school, built in 1953. About 75% of students at our school are classified as "economically disadvantaged." Despite the fact that my kiddos may not have a ton of resources outside of our classroom, they push themselves as hard as they can! Many of my students were not able to bring all of the school supplies that we asked for. Therefore, we are quickly running out of pencils, our dry erase markers have dried out, and not every student has their own highlighter. My grade level is departmentalized, and I teach all components of reading. We use the materials that I am requesting to "track our thinking" during independent reading, take notes during whole class instruction, and during small group guided reading and intervention.
