I am beginning my tenth year teaching in a Title 1 Elementary School in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I am beginning my second year in Kindergarten. We have approximately 80% students on Free and Reduced lunches and are defiinitely feeling the crunch of the extreme budget crisis. The majority of our students survive facing daily challenges that would take out the toughest of the tough, yet everyday they teach me something new!The hardest part for me is realizing that my students do not get to experience authentic play at home. Research had proven that children learn best through play. I share this belief and want to provide quality materials to spark their imaginations and engage them to practice communication, problem solving, and social skills.
