This past spring, teachers and students were sent home to embark on a new learning adventure. As a teacher, I saw my students engaged and learning when they had materials available to them. This year, I want all my students to have the opportunity to learn at home.
I want to get actual books that they can hold in their hands, and dry erase boards, markers and erasers for math tools that they need to become better mathematicians at home.
I am lucky enough to live in my the same community as my school, and want to create a safe system in which students get bags of books to take home and read, drop off at my house and then I can give them new books to take home. This will provide my students with books and the ability for me to connect regularly with my students. All socially distanced, of course! I believe that by doing this, I can get engagement up and students can learn no matter where we are.
