Most of the students at my school are mainly from low income families, and see school as a requirement and not a necessity. The main goal of the Magnet Academy is to motivate our students and guide them to understanding the importance of a STEAM education. Twenty-first Learning skills with Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking (the 4 C's), drives all of our curriculum. We want our students to have real-life learning experiences, thus a student run newspaper. We have natural leaders and students that want to feel like they are a part of something meaningful, where their voice can be heard.
