I teach at a Title I school in an urban location, where over 90 percent of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. We have little to no community or parent involvement. As a coach, I constantly struggle to gain the resources necessary to properly train and compete. Most students work in order to help their families provide for basic needs, not to purchase extras for themselves.
