My students come from a low economic area where they are often told they cannot achieve what other schools can because of their economic status. My students are enthusiastic about physical fitness and love to work out. They often tell me they wish that we had a school gym and locker room like other schools so they can change into PE clothes. That way, they will not have to participate in regular school clothes such as jeans. The students always mention that they wish our school had more resources and wish they could do more in PE instead of just running and push-ups and sit-ups on fitness days. We are a small junior high school and do not have a gymnasium and or locker room for the students to be able to change or many resources for them.
