We are a small middle school with about 400 students. Over 70% of our students come from lower income families and qualify for free or reduced lunches. They also love to read. In one month, my students have checked out 520 books. There is a long waitlist for new and popular titles ranging from Non-Fiction Sports to Science Fiction and everything in between. Although we have a modest collection of the classics and reference materials, my students want more modern titles and graphic novels. Their motivation to read inspires me. I want to provide them new books and a larger variety of titles to further inspire them.
