Due to the flooding my school received from Hurricane/ Tropical Storm Harvey, everything that touched or was near the floor was a loss. The school received a few feet of water but it took a few weeks for the water to recede and remediation to begin at the school. All my personal shelving in my classroom, as well as my library, and many of our centers were ruined as a result. In addition, the length of time that the water stood in the school many items were ruined by water and also mold.
My classroom is in desperate need of these core materials to help enhance my students learning. Currently, we are sharing a classroom with another kinder group. Soon we will make the move to an empty portable building. My students and I are eagerly awaiting to move to our own class in the next 2 weeks. I know this is an adventure many of them will never forget. However, I want the stories of kindergarten to be fondly remembered when they retell the year of horrible Harvey.
These donations will not only help my current students, but I will be able to use the items for years to come. Any donations to help replace any items lost during the flood would be greatly appreciated
