Students in our school have so many challenges in their home lives (poverty, hunger, non-safe home situations, and families with limited English speaking support) that it is amazing how far they grow academically and socially each year. They come to school each day and give their absolute best, trying to better themselves. School is safety, consistency, and a positive influence for so many students in my class. The smallest things, that many people might take for granted, is a big deal for these kids. These simple things would mean a lot to students that don't have a lot.
